Technical Specialist to Outline Aspiration Advances at Spanish Fire Safety Event

February 10, 2013

David Howard, newly appointed technical specialist for FAAST, has been selected as keynote speaker at the APICI 7th International Conference on Fire Safety Engineering in Madrid on 21st February.

David will be delivering a session entitled Technology Advances in Aspiration Smoke Detection For Performance-Based Design. APICI in conjunction with Honeywell Life Safety Iberia invited David to speak on the subject based on his expertise in designing and specifying fire systems and his knowledge of industry codes of practice.

FAAST is actively selling across Europe with contracts secured from high profile organisation. David’s principle task as technical specialist is to provide support and guidance to fire systems partners and their Engineering Systems Designers, helping them to interpret new codes of practice and specify advanced detection technology to meet a range of life safety applications.

David has worked in the fire and facilities management industries for 15 years for companies including Siemens, Preussag and Johnson Controls. He has considerable experience gained as a field engineer and technical consultant, designing and managing life safety and fire protection projects. He also has extensive knowledge of the gas suppression sector.

Sean Clay, Sales Leader, Honeywell Sensors & Devices, EMEAI, said, “David brings considerable knowledge of aspiration fire detection to the technical support team, adding to our existing in-depth expertise of point fire detection technology. With laser based aspiration detection expected to see the fastest annual growth of all smoke detectors in the next few years it is vital to be able to offer extensive technical support and guidance to our fire systems partners. David is already working very effectively supporting our recently-launched FAAST and FAAST LT products, which are generating a high level of demand amongst end users.”
